Dhaka: The government has promoted 277 senior assistant secretaries and officials of equivalent rank to deputy secretary in another major reshuffle of the administration.
The public administration ministry issued separate gazettes formalising the promotions on Monday.
The promoted officials include members of the administration cadre as well as officers from other cadres.
This is the second major round of promotions since the BNP formed the government in February after winning the February election.
On Jul 9, the government promoted 179 deputy secretaries to joint secretary.
Those promoted to deputy secretary have been attached to the public administration ministry as special officers on deputation pending allocation of their new posts.
