Bangladesh came from a goal down to advance to the SAFF Women’s Championship final with a 2-1 win over Nepal in the first semi-final at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, India, on Wednesday.
Super-sub Sagorika scored the all-important winner in the injury time of the match to propel Peter Butler’s charges in their third successive final of the tournament.
Gita Rana gave Nepal the lead in the 23rd minute before midfielder Ritu Porna Chakma scored an Olympic goal from the right in the 45th minute for the equaliser.
Bangladesh, who won the titles in 2022 and 2024 and both times defeated hosts Nepal in the finals, are now one win away from completing their hat-trick title.
Bangladesh will play the final against the winners of the second semi-final between India and Bhutan.
