Iran is “fully prepared to facilitate maritime traffic” in the Strait of Hormuz, President Masoud Pezeshkian has told Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
His comments came during a phone call in which Takaichi urged Pezeshkian to reopen the waterway, as we previously reported.
“The main problem stems from the restrictions and obstacles imposed by the United States against Iranian shipping and trade,” the government IRNA news service reported Pezeshkian as saying.
“We will try to provide a route for Japanese ships to pass without problems and with greater ease,” he added.
