Entertainment Desk: She acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan, appeared in films such as Joggers’ Park and Ek Ajnabee, and seemed set for a promising Bollywood career. Then Perizaad Zorabian walked away from the spotlight—and into the world of business.
After marrying businessman Boman Irani, Zorabian gradually left acting to focus on her family. She later took charge of the family-owned Zorabian business when it was reportedly going through a difficult financial period.
Her efforts helped transform the company into a major poultry and food-processing enterprise, according to Indian media reports. The business now reportedly generates an annual turnover of around Rs 120 crore, equivalent to roughly Tk 154 crore, and employs about 700 people.
But Zorabian’s transition from actress to entrepreneur did not happen overnight.
Before entering Bollywood, she earned an MBA in New York and trained at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She made her acting debut with Nagesh Kukunoor’s Bollywood Calling.
She later gained recognition for Joggers’ Park and Ek Ajnabee, while also getting the opportunity to share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan.
Marriage, however, changed the course of her career. Reports say she even turned down a role in the big-budget film Salaam-e-Ishq as she wanted to prioritise her family.
She eventually left the film industry altogether and devoted herself to the family business.
Today, Zorabian may no longer appear on the big screen, but she has built a new identity in the corporate world. Her journey—from Bollywood actress to entrepreneur at the helm of a reported Rs 120-crore business—continues to attract attention.
